Care Funding Check is an independent information service providing guidance on NHS Continuing Healthcare funding to families in the UK. We are the data controller for any personal data you provide to us through this website.
What data we collect
- Email addresses provided when you complete the eligibility checker or purchase a digital pack.
- Anonymised responses you give to the eligibility checker.
- Payment information processed securely by Stripe (we do not store full card details).
- Usage data via Google Analytics 4 (page views, device type, approximate location).
Why we collect it
We collect personal data to deliver your eligibility report, process and fulfil purchases, send follow-up emails where you have consented, and to understand and improve the service.
Legal basis
- Consent — for marketing and follow-up emails.
- Contractual necessity — for processing purchases of digital products.
- Legitimate interest — for analytics and service improvement.
Third parties
We share limited personal data with trusted service providers: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Google Analytics (website analytics), and Supabase (database hosting). Each provider acts as a data processor on our behalf and is bound by appropriate data protection terms.
Data retention
- Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe.
- Purchase records are retained for 7 years to comply with HMRC requirements.
- Eligibility checker responses are retained indefinitely in fully anonymised form for research and improvement purposes.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
